This is a model I restored for the IWM in 1991. This was HMS MANTIS 1915, a Fly Class river gunboat. Real ship was 126ft long, model at 1/24 was over 5ft long.
This is the IWM’s model of MARSHAL SOULT, a monitor 1915 at the scale of 1/96. The actual ship was 355ft long and the model was 3.7ft long. The photos below are before restoration. There are no surviving pics of Continue reading →
This is a series of photos of a 1/48 scale model of the Q ship HYDERABAD, a specially constructed decoy vessel. This ship was also known as CORAL and also NICOBAR. It was used as a depot ship in Russia in 1919.
This is the restoration of the IWM 1/48 scale of HMS FALMOUTH 1911 undertaken by me in 1979. Falmouth was a Weymouth class 6″ gun light cruiser built by Beardsmore and launched in 1910, torpedoed by U52 and sank in August 1916.

This is the U class Submarine UPHOLDER at 1/72 scale. The 3″/20cwt.deck gun shown is JRH 653
